![]() ![]() If Nintendo keeps a closed ecosystem going as they have with the current switch, I can't honestly say I will be buying a switch2 over an Ally at this point. But the question begs, if its 399 for a complete setup what about a 'console only' release so existing switch owners only need to upgrade the core system and keep the accessories? Assuming things like the Jo圜ons will work with the new revision. If the OG Switch is going to continue to receive support through the eShop while the Switch2 ramps up, the pricing makes sense IMHO. Sirsquishy67 said:If this is true, they are competing with pricing on the Steamdeck and the ROG Ally and taking them as serious competition. Having the ability to connect to my gaming PC from the switch(CFW) has been an absolute game changer for all sorts of things, having access to a functioning browser, netflix, disney+, and Hulu(already part of the ecosystem) is a must have moving forward or I am just not interested in continuing with Nintendo past the OG swtich. ![]() If this is true, they are competing with pricing on the Steamdeck and the ROG Ally and taking them as serious competition. The latest Ratchet & Clank has restored my faith in high-end PC gaming - here's why.Nintendo Switch 2 key specs just tipped - here’s what to expect.Nintendo Switch 2 could launch with a brand new Mario game.A slew of rumors make it seem increasingly likely we'll see the Switch 2 arrive sometime early next year. We may not have to wait long to learn more about Nintendo's plans for a Switch refresh, though. But an LCD display for a next-generation Switch would be a step backward for Nintendo, especially when compared to the dramatic display improvements in terms of colors and contrast available on the Nintendo Switch OLED. Game file sizes only get larger with each generation, and it's already easy to fill a standard Switch up with the best Nintendo Switch games. According to noted gaming tipster NateTheHate, the Switch 2 will pack a bigger 8-inch LCD display and 512GB of storage. Though it's worth noting Zippo's sources did echo a rumor from earlier this week that the Nintendo Switch 2 will stick with an LCD screen rather than upgrade to an OLED one. As Notebook Check notes, the tipster has been banned from some Reddit groups for purportedly posting misleading and inaccurate information. And hey, we might even see the Switch Pro launch alongside Tears of the Kingdom, as Twilight Princess did with the Wii, and Breath of the Wild did for the Switch.Secondly, Zippo is a bit of a controversial figure in the world of gaming rumors. And let's face it, Nintendo's going to need more powerful hardware for its big hitters like Zelda and Metroid Prime 4. I'm cautiously optimistic about the Nintendo Switch Pro's existence now. That NVN2 leak from earlier in the year makes reference to Nvidia's DLSS upscaling tech, which leverages AI to boost resolutions and framerates without impacting overall performance. I think this would be the right move for Nintendo, and lines up with comments made by president Shuntaro Furukawa earlier this year that the Switch is in the middle of its lifecycle.Ī potential Switch Pro may still struggle to output 4K resolutions, then, but the rumors suggest it'll have some tricks up its sleeve to make up for that. That probably isn't the generational leap you'd be hoping for, but I imagine it's more palatable for third-party developers and publishers, who might then find it easier to port their games to the Switch Pro without relying on cloud-based versions.įor my money, it points to the Switch Pro being a mid-gen upgrade rather than a new console outright. Commenters in the Reddit thread are largely in agreement that the Tegra239 would be similarly powerful to the PS4.
